Welcome to ParentsasCoaches.net, the official site for the International Network for Parents as Coaches (INPaC).

As a father and a personal coach, I believe that every child is uniquely gifted and that our primarily role as parents is to help our children discover and develop their unique potentials.  The best gift we could give them is none other than a generous dosage of love, support and encouragement that enable them to be who they are, who they can be and who they want to be.  Helping our children to 'unleash their greatness' requires a different mindset from most traditional parenting approaches that we are familiar with.  It demands that we focus on what they want to achieve, instead of what we think is 'best' for them.  It is my pleasure to invite you to begin this fulfilling journey with Parents-as-Coaches ~ an approach to bringing out the best in our children that integrates the heart of parenting with the discipline of coaching.

Happy Coaching!

  Kenny Toh

Co-founder, International Network for Parents as Coaches

How it all got started ...

INPaC* was established in August 2005 by Kenny Toh and his wife, Mei Chin, as a vehicle to share the joy of parenting through a new approach to raising children based on the discipline of personal coaching.   Parents-as-Coaches is a result of integrating Kenny's wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience as a personal coach with the founders' collective experience as parents.  It is developed specifically for parents who share the passion for bringing out the greatness in children and are committed to play an active role in raising tomorrow's heroes.

The idea was inspired partly by a dissatisfaction with outdated parenting practices that fail to meet the needs of contemporary parents, and partly by the astonishing accomplishments observed in Sean and Dylan, their two young children who inevitably became the earliest test subjects or ‘guinea pigs’ for applying the frameworks and techniques commonly employed in the field of personal development.

To their surprise, the boys began reading proficiently at the age two, riding a bicycle at two and a half, playing games such as Scrabble and International Chess competently at four, and excelling in school/pre-school.  At the age of five and seven, they both became some of the best chess players in the country in their respective age groups.  Imagine the exhilaration experienced by a toddler zooming around freely on a two-wheeler. Imagine the look on the child’s face after pulling off a ‘checkmate’ on an adult many times his age. Those are the moments of joy that Kenny and Mei Chin wish to share with other fellow parents.

* INPaC has been featured in March 2006 Issue of Family (a leading parenting magazine in Singapore) as one of the four new parent support groups in Singapore that have sprung up to help average parents do a better job of raising their kids.
